GOD TEACHES US TO RESPECT OUR ELDERS
BY APOSTLE JANICE L . WILLIAMS
2 Corinthians 4:7-18 NKJV
Cast Down but Unconquered
7/ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8/ We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9/ persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— 10/ always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11/ For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12/ So then death is working in us, but life in you.
13/ And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, 14/ knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. 15/ For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanks-giving to abound to the glory
of God.
(Seeing the Invisible)
16/ Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17/ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18/ while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Psalm 92:13-15 NKJV
13/ Those who are planted in the house of the LORD
shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14/They
shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be fresh and flourishing,
15/To declare that the Lord is upright;
He is my rock,
and there is no unrighteous-ness in Him.
Job 12:12-13 NLT
12/ Wisdom belongs to the aged, and understand-ing to the old.
13/ “But true wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understand-ing are his.
LEVITICUS 19:32 NIV
32/ “‘Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.
1 PETER 5:5 NIV
5/ In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

PROVERBS 16:31 NLT
31/ Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained by living a godly life.
1 TIMOTHY 5:1-2 NLT
1/Never speak harshly to an older man, but appeal to him respectfully as you would to your own father. Talk to younger men as you would to your own brothers. 2/ Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.
1 TIMOTHY 5:1-2 NLT
19/ Do not listen to an accusation against an elder unless it is confirmed by two or three witnesses.
