The mystery of the person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is so deep, that in order for us to know Him, especially with spiritual intimacy, He has to personally reveal Himself to us. He can not fully be discerned by human intellect. He reveals Himself to us through His Word and by the Holy Spirit. 

JOHN 14:17, 20-21 NKJV *

17/ the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 20/ At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21/ He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

 25/ “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26/ But the Helper {Helper>Comforter-KJV}, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

  

Jesus walked, and lived on Earth among His disciples who didn't fully understand who He was until after He resurrected from the dead. Like a loving Father, returning home to his family, would comfort His children after being away from them for a season; Jesus came back and comforted his disciples just as He told them He would. He opened their understanding of the Scriptures before leaving Earth to go to Heaven and send back the Comforter/the Holy Spirit to indwell their mortal bodies and to indwell everybody 

that receives Jesus as Lord and Savior.

THE BLESSING OF SALVATION TOOK PLACE WHEN THE COMPLETED CREATION OF THE NEW MAN, THROUGH THE REDEMPTIVE WORK OF CHRIST JESUS, WHICH SPIRITUALLY CIRCUMCISES MAN'S HEART WAS ACCOMPLISHED

Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All

1/ The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. 2/ If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared.
3/ But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. 4/ For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5/ That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God,
“You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer. 6/ You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin. 7/ Then I said, ‘Look, I have come to do your will, O God— as is written about me in the Scriptures.’” 8/ First, Christ said, “You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them” (though they are required by the law of Moses). 9/ Then he said, “Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. 10/ For GOD'S WILL was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

EPHESIANS 2:11-15 NLT 

11/ Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. 12/ In those days you were living apart from Christ.
