Walking In The Spirit
Galatians 5:22 thru 26 CEV * 22/ God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23/ gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. 24/And because we belong to Christ, we have killed our selfish feelings and desires. 25/ God’s Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. 26/ But don’t be conceited or make others jealous by claiming to be better than they are.
JESUS IS THE WAY FOR EVERYONE WHO SO DESIRES, TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT; IN THE CHARACTER OR SPIRITUAL NATURE OF GOD.
Let's look at some word definitions for this Bible Study:
1/ adultery - extramarital sex: voluntary sexual relations between a married person and somebody other than his or her spouse
2/ fornication - (in the Bible) *sexual intercourse between a man and woman who are not married, or any form of sexual behavior considered to be immoral
3/ uncleanness - (in religion) not clean according to religious rules
4/ lewdness - indecent: showing an inordinate interest in sex or sexual excitement.
5/ inordinate - unrestrained: showing a lack of restraint or self control
6/ idolatry - 1. extreme admiration: or fanatical devotion to somebody or something, 2. Idol worship: the worship of idols or false gods.
7/ sorcery - witchcraft: the supposed use of magic
8/ contentions - angry disagreements between people
9/ jealousies - 1. envious: feeling bitter and unhappy because of another’s advantages or positions 2. suspicious of rivals: feeling suspicious about a rival’s or competitor’s influence, especially in regard to a loved one 3. watchful: possessively watchful of something
10/ wrath - fury often marked by a desire for vengeance
11/ dissensions - (in Christianity) to refuse to conform to an authority, doctrines, or practices of an established church
12/ heresies - (in religion) an opinion or belief that contradicts established religious teaching, especially one that is condemned by a religious authority

18/ redemption - 1. the saving or improving of something or someone that has declined into a poor state 2. Christianity - atonement for human sin: deliverance from the sins of humanity by the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Galatians 5:16 thru 26 NKJV *16/ I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17/ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18/ But if you are led by the spirit, you are not under the law. 19/ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20/ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21/ envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God [Romans 14:17 tells us the kingdom of God is "righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." * In Luke 17:21 Jesus states, "The kingdom of God is within you."]. ----------22/ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23/ gentleness, self-control, Against such there is no law. 24/ And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25/ if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26/ Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
I Corinthians 13:4 thru 8 CEV
4/ Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or 5/ rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do. 6/ Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. 7/ Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. 8/ Love never fails!
Ephesians 4:17 thru 32 NKJV * 17/ This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles [non-Israelite/non-Hebrew peoples/nations or all unbelievers] walk, in the futility of their mind, 18/ having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19/ who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. 20/ But you have not so learned Christ, 21/ if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22/ that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23/ and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24/ and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. 25/ Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26/ “Be angry, and do not sin” do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27/ nor give place to the devil. 28/ Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29/ Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30/ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31/ Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32/ And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 5:1 thru 10 NKJV * 1/ Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2/ And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. 3/ But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4/ neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5/ For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6/ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7/ Therefore do not be partakers with them. 8/ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light. 9/ (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10/ finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
