 Palm Sunday 4-1-12 * is the Sunday before the Christian celebration of Resurrection Sunday [called Easter by some Christians & many others * review weekly bible study #57 "Resurrection Sunday"]; that commemorates Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem [to prepare to go to the cross to die for our sins] through a crowd waving palm branches. Palm fronds are distributed at some church services on this day. 

John 12:12-15 NKJV 12/The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast [the feast of Passover: a Jewish festival beginning on the 14th day of Nisan {Jewish calendar month equivelant to the Gregorian calendar month March–April} and continuing for seven or eight days in commemoration of the exodus of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt.  Translation of Hebrew pesaḥ , “to pass without affecting,” alluding to the Bible (Exodus 12:11–27) where God passes over the Israelites, while the firstborn of other families are killed.],

  when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13/took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:

“Hosanna!
‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’
The King of Israel!”

ABOUT LOVE

1 CORINTHIANS 13:4 THRU 8 CEV

• 4/Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or
• 5/rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that others do.
• 6/Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil.
• 7/Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting
• 8/Love never fails !

John 15:13 NKJV "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.

Now Let's Look At Some Word Definitions

• manners* social behavior, especiallly in terms of what is considered correct or unacceptable.
• honor* esteem somebody or something: to have or show great respect and admiration for somebody or something.
• respect * to show consideration or thoughtfulness in relation to somebody or something
• rebuke * a reprimand or expression of criticism or disapproval
• chasten * to subject somebody to discipline

THE WHOLE DUTY OF EVERYONE: RESPECT AND OBEY GOD

Ecclesiastes 12:7-14 CEV* 7/ So our bodies return to the earth, and the life-giving breath [spirit] returns to God. 8/ Nothing makes sense. I have seen it all-- nothing makes sense. 9/ I was a wise teacher with much understanding, and I collected a number of proverbs that I had carefully studied. 10/ Then I tried to explain these things in the best and most accurate way. 11/ Words of wisdom are like the stick a farmer uses to make animals move. These sayings come from God, our only shepherd, and they are like nails that fasten things together. 12/ My child, I warn you to stay away from any teachings except these. There is no end to books, and too much study will wear you out. 13/ Everything you were taught can be put into a few words: Respect and obey God! This is what life is all about. 14/ God will judge everything we do, even what is done in secret, whether good or bad.

HOW DO WE SHOW LOVE, MANNERS, HONOR & RESPECT FOR GOD?

THANK HIM AND PRAISE HIM WITH A GRATEFUL HEART; THAT HE HAS FORGIVEN US AND MADE US PART OF HIS FAMILY.

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

HOW DO WIVES SHOW LOVE, MANNERS, HONOR & RESPECT FOR THEIR HUSBANDS & CHILDREN?

{First of all, seek your Heavenly Father for the tailor made husband He has just for you. 2 Corinthians 6:14 NIV* Don"t be unequally yoked with unbelievers.}

• Ephesians 5:21-24 NIV* 21/ Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22/ Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23/ For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24/ Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
• Proverbs 31:10-29 NIV* 10/ A wife of noble character who can find? • Proverbs 19:18 NLT * 18/ Discipline your children while there is hope. Otherwise you will ruin their lives.
• Proverbs 22:6 NLT*6/ Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
• Proverbs 12:4 NIV * A wife of noble character is her husbands crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.
• Proverbs 21:9 NIV * 9/ Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife [don't be combative, talk things out respectfully].
• Proverbs 25:24 NLT * Its better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home. { This scripture and the previous one applies to quarrelsome husbands as well as wives. HOW DO HUSBANDS SHOW LOVE, MANNERS, HONOR & RESPECT FOR THEIR WIVES & CHILDREN?

• Proverbs 18:22 NIV* 22/ He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.
• Proverbs 19:14 NLT * 14/ Fathers can give their sons an inheritance of houses and wealth, but only the LORD can give an understanding wife. {Seek your Heavenly Father for the wife He has tailor made just for you!*2 Corinthians 6:14 NIV* Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers.}
• Ephesians 5:25-33 NIV* 25/ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26/ to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27/ and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28/ In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. HOW COULD WE POSSIBLY EVER RESPECT &/OR HONOR AN ABUSIVE PARENT, OR OTHERS THAT HAVE ABUSED US, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE PAIN OF THE ABUSE IS STILL FRESH?

HOW DO WE SHOW LOVE, MANNERS, HONOR & RESPECT FOR OUR CHILDREN?

• Proverbs 13:24 CEV* 24/ If you love your children, you will correct them; if you don't love them, you won't correct them.
• Proverbs 22:6 CEV*6/ Teach your children right from wrong, and when they are grown they will still do right.
• Ephesians 6:4 CEV* 4/ Parents, don't be hard on your children. Raise them properly. Teach them and instruct them about the Lord.
• Psalm 103:13-14 CEV*13/ Just as parents are kind to their children, the LORD is kind to all who worship him, 14/ because he knows we are made of dust.
• Luke 15:11-32 NIV*The Parable of the Lost Son

11/ Jesus continued: There was a man who had two sons. 12/ The younger one said to his father, Father, give me my share of the estate. HOW DO WE SHOW LOVE, MANNERS, HONOR & RESPECT FOR OURSELVES & EACH OTHER?

• Ephesians 5:15-21 NLT* 15/ So be careful how you live. Don't live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16/ Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17/ Don't act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18/ Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19/ singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20/ And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• Galatians 6:1-5 NLT*1/ Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. 2/ Share each others burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. 3/ If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.

  4/ Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won't need to compare yourself to anyone else. 5/ For we are each responsible for our own conduct.

So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17/ If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion how can Gods love be in that person? 18/ Dear children, lets not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19/ Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.

• Leviticus 19:15 NLT* Do not twist justice in legal matters by favoring the poor or being partial to the rich and powerful. Always judge people fairly.

• Proverbs 25:17 NIV* 17/ Seldom set foot in your neighbors house-----too much of you, and they will hate you. >{I've heard this scripture put this way: "Don't wear out your welcome!"}<

• Ephesians 4:32 NLT* 32/ Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

IF YOU'VE CARRIED YOURSELF IN A DISRESPECTFUL WAY, REPENT AND ASK FATHER GOD TO HELP YOU TO LOVE, RESPECT AND FORGIVE YOURSELF.
