LET'S REVIEW AGAIN SOME WORD DEFINITIONS FOR THIS BIBLE STUDY: 1/ haughty - act in a superior way: to behave toward other people as though they are less important or less intelligent than you are, condescending or arrogant behavior2/ enmity - hostility: the extreme ill will or hatred that exists between enemies 3/ detestable - worthy of being hated: causing or deserving intense dislike 4/ acquit - declare innocent: to declare officially that somebody is not guilty of a charge or accusation5/ pride- 1/ negative sense of the word * feeling of superiority: a haughty attitude shown by people who believe, unjustifiably, that they are better than others; also regarded as false pride 2/ positive sense of the word pride * proper sense of own value: the correct level of respect for the importance and value of your personal character, life, efforts, or achievements.
6/ vanities - excessive pride: excessive pride, especially in your appearance [prideful ways]
7/ derogatory * disparaging: expressing a low opinion or negative criticism 8/ exalt * 1. promote: to raise somebody or something in rank, position, or esteem (formal)
2. praise: to praise or worship somebody or something (formal)9/ abased * belittle somebody: to make somebody feel belittled or degraded 10/ humble * 1. modest: modest and unassuming in attitude and behavior 2. respectful: feeling or showing respect and deference toward other people
3. lowly: relatively low in rank and without pretensions
The Apostle Paul stated in Romans 12:3 NLT * 3/ "Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us."

JESUS stated in Matthew 23:11-12 KJV * 11/ But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12/ And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased: and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
1 Corinthians 1:29 KJV * 29/ That no flesh should glory in his presence.
Galatians 5:25-26 CEV * 25/ God’s Spirit has given us life, and so we should follow the Spirit. 26/ But don’t be conceited or make others jealous by claiming to be better than they are.
Galatians 6:3 NLT * 3/ If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
Jonah 2:8 KJV * 8/ They that observe lying vanities [prideful ways] forsake their own mercy.
Romans 12:16 NLT* 16/ Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
Proverbs 18:13 NLT * 13/ Spouting off before listening to the facts
is both shameful and foolish.
