Exodus 17:1-16 (NOG)
The Lord Provides Water for the Israelites from a Rock
1/ The whole community of Israelites left the desert of Sin and traveled from place to place
as Yahweh commanded them.
They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink.
2/ So they complained to Moses by saying, “Give us water to drink!”
Moses said to them, “Why are you complaining to me? Why are you testing Yahweh?”
3/ But the people were thirsty for water there. They complained to Moses and asked, “Why did you bring us out of Egypt? Was it to make us, our children, and our livestock die of thirst?”
4/ So Moses cried out to Yahweh, “What should I do
with these people? They’re almost ready to stone me!”
5/ Yahweh answered Moses,
“Bring some of the leaders of Israel with you, and
go to where the people can see you.
Take the staff you used to strike the Nile River. 6/ I’ll be standing in front of you there by a rock at Mount Horeb.
Called "The Mountain of God", Mount Horeb, is also called the Mountain of YHWH.
Mount Sinai and Mount Paran are also names for Mount Horeb. It is the mountain at which the Ten Commandments were given to Moses by God.
Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.”
Moses did this while the leaders of Israel watched him.
7/ He named that place Massah [Testing]
and Meribah [Complaining]
because the Israelites complained and because they tested Yahweh, asking, “Is Yahweh with us or not?”
God Defeats the Amalekites
8/ The Amalekites fought Israel at Rephidim.
9/ Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men. Then fight the Amalekites.
Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill. I will hold in my hand the staff Elohim told me to take along.”
10/ Joshua did as Moses told him
and fought the Amalekites, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill. 11/ As long as Moses held up his hands, Israel would win, but as soon as he put his hands down, the Amalekites would start to win. 12/ Eventually, Moses’ hands felt heavy. So Aaron and Hur took a rock, put it under him, and he sat on it. Aaron held up one hand, and Hur held up the other. His hands remained steady until sunset. 13/ So Joshua defeated the Amalekite army in battle.
14/ Yahweh said to Moses, “Write this reminder on a scroll, and make sure that Joshua hears it, too:
I will completely erase any memory of the Amalekites from the earth.”
15/ Moses built an altar and called it Yahweh Nissi. 16/ He said, “Because a hand was lifted against Yah’s throne, Yahweh will be at war against the Amalekites from one generation to the next.”
Seven Hebrew Names of God in Christianity
LETS FIND OUT, WHO THE AMALEKITES WERE, IN THE BIBLE?
Amalek was the son of Eliphaz and the concubine Timna. Timna was a Horite {Seir's Family, oldest known caste of priests who worshipped Yahweh, ethnically Kushite, sister of Lotan}.
Amalek appears in the genealogy of Esau (Genesis 36:12; 1 Chronicles 1:36) who was the chief of an Edomite tribe (Genesis 36:16). Amalek is described as the "chief of Amalek" in Genesis 36:16, in which it is suspected that he ruled a clan or territory named after him. In the chant of Balaam at Numbers, 24:20, Amalek was called the 'first of the nations to make war with Israel.
REVIEW WBS #171/GENESIS 36 * ESAU’S FAMILY * SEIR'S FAMILY/THE HORITES {HORIM IN HEBREW} CASTE OF RULER PRIESTS
The name "Amalek" refers to the nation's founder, a grandson of Esau {twin brother of Jacob/Israel * Romans 9:13 KJV-13/As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. * Malachi 1:3- 3/But Esau I have hated,}; his descendents, the Amalekites; or the territories of Amalek which they inhabited.
In the Old Testament, Amalekites are identified as a recurrent enemy of the Israelites.
In ancient and more modern times, groups identified with Amalek include:
Romans { In 6 CE, Rome joined Judea proper, Samaria and Idumea (biblical Edom-Esau's descendants dwelling place) into the Roman province of Iudaea. In 44 CE, Rome installed the rule of a Roman procurator side by side with the rule of the Herodian kings specifically Agrippa I 41–44 and Agrippa II 50–100. }, Nazis, some Iranian leaders, Stalinists {followers of Joseph Stalin, ruler who became dictator of Russia or the Soviet Union from the mid-1920s until his death in 1953}.
First-century Roman-Jewish scholar and historian Flavius Josephus refers to Amalek in a negative sense as a 'bastard' although he quite possibly and perhaps unknowingly, may have been a descendant of Amalek himself.

REVIEW WBS #125 THE BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON
Deuteronomy 25:17-19 (NOG)
17/ Remember what the Amalekites did to you on your trip from Egypt. 18/ They attacked you when you were tired and exhausted and killed all those who were lagging behind. They weren’t afraid of Elohim. 19/ So when Yahweh your Elohim gives you peace from all your enemies around you in the land that he is giving you as your own property, don’t forget to erase every memory of the Amalekites from the earth.
Jeremiah 17:14 NOG
14/ Heal me, O Yahweh, and I will be healed. Rescue me, and I will be rescued. You are the one I praise.
