The following words with their definitions, are attributes of God's love that you will see expressed or carried out in the lives of spiritually mature Christian believers. 

{DO NOT MISINTERPRET THE WORDS WITH THEIR DEFINITIONS, ALONG WITH SCRIPTURES PERTAINING TO REBUKE & CHASTEN, TO MEAN IT IS EVER OK TO PHYSICALLY, VERBALLY, MENTALLY OR EMOTIONALLY ABUSE  ANYONE.  ABUSE IS NEVER OK!!!

A GODLY REBUKE OR CHASTENING SERVES TO POINT OUT TO A PERSON, WRONG DOING, THAT IF NOT DEALT WITH WILL IMPEDE SPIRITUAL GROWTH, CAUSE HARM TO THEMSELF, AND POSSIBLY OTHERS.  IT IS DONE TO HELP THE PERSON BEING CHASTENED OR REBUKED TO SEE THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS AND STOP, OR, CORRECT THEM. 

rebuke *

• to express sharp, stern disapproval of; reprove; reprimand

TRUE LOVE CARES ENOUGH TO CONFRONT

Proverbs 27:5, 6 NLT * 5/ An open rebuke
is better than hidden love!  6/ Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.

chasten *  

• To correct by punishment or reproof;
• To discipline 
• To refine or purify:

humility/humbleness/meekness

• The absence of any feelings of being better than others. * modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit; not arrogant or prideful.  Matthew 5:5 KJV * Blessed are the meek {humble} : for they shall inherit the earth.  
• Jesus refers to Himself as meek {KJV} or humble in Matthew 11:29 NIV * 29/Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart,

nurture *

• To feed, provide for {the  necessities of life: food, shelter and clothing}, protect: to nurture one's offspring.
• To support and encourage, as during a period of training or development;
• To bring up; train; educate

sacrifice *

• an act of offering something precious to God {yourself, your money, your time, your praise etc.}
• the giving or surrender of something for the sake of something or someone else. {John 3:16 NKJV * For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.}. 
• something given up or lost {the sacrifices made for us by God, parents, family or friends, etc. {John 15:13 NKJV * 13/ Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.}  Weekly Bible Study #4 "No Greater Love" expounds more deeply  on God's sacrifice for the whole world. 
• 1 John 3:16-19 NLT * 16/ We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us.  So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.  17/ If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion how can God’s love be in that person?  18/ Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.  19/ Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God.

Mother *

• A woman who conceives, gives birth to, or raises and nurtures a child
• A woman in authority; specifically: church mothers of a religious community, or, an elderly woman

motherhood *

• The state of being a mother; maternity.
• The qualities or spirit of a mother
• The feelings or characteristics associated with being a mother; motherliness

Father *

• Heavenly Father God, the first person of the Holy Trinity {FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT}

or

• A male person whose sperm unites with an egg, resulting in the conception of a child, or a man who raises and nutures a child.
• A man who adopts a child. 
• A man in authority in a church [spiritual father]

fatherhood  *

• The state or responsibility of being a father.
• The qualities of a father.  Fatherliness.  Fatherly love

 *GOD*

• The Holy Trinity-Three Persons in one God * God the Father-God the Son- God the Holy Spirit
• The Spirit Being perfect in love, power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe. 

•  {John 4:24 KJV * God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.}
• In Christian belief, God the Son, who is also called "THE WORD OF GOD"  lived on earth in the flesh {physical body} as Jesus Christ {John 1:1, 14 KJV * 1/ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 14/ And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Revelation 19:13 KJV * ........his name is called The Word of God.

• God the Holy Spirit now lives on Earth in born again believers in Jesus Christ.  {John 14:20 NKJV "At that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in Me, and I in you.} 

godhood *

• spiritual maturity; the state or quality of being godly; careful observance of, or conformity to the character of God; Christlikeness - Conformed to the image of God's Son {Jesus Christ}, Romans 8:29 KJV - For whom he {God} did foreknow, he {God} also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his {God's} dear Son {Jesus Christ}, that he {Jesus Christ} might be the firstborn among many brethren {heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ>Romans 8:17 KJV}. godliness - 1 Timothy 4:8 KJV ...godliness is profitable unto all things.... 

Revelation 3:19 NKJV * 19/As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

PROVERBS 3:11, 12 NKJV * 11/ My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor detest His correction; 12/ For whom the LORD loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

 Hebrews 12:11 NKJV

11/ Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

26/ ............whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27/ And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28/ Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

 

EPHESIANS 4:11-16 NLT * 11/ Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12/ Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13/ This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.  14/ Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15/ Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16/ He makes the whole body fit together perfectly.  As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

 THERE IS A FATHERLY / MOTHERLY, {PARENTAL, NURTURING} SIDE OF US, AS WELL AS A SON / DAUGHTERLY, {CHILD LIKE, INNOCENT, SUBMISSIVE, HUMBLE, AND TEACHABLE] SIDE OF US, AND WE HAVE A SPIRIT [VITAL LIFE FORCE]; BUT WE'RE JUST ONE MAN OR WOMAN THAT OPERATES IN THREE WAYS WITH A BODY, SOUL/MIND, & SPIRIT.  REGARDLESS TO WHETHER OR NOT A MAN HAS EVER PRO-CREATED OR A WOMAN HAS EVER GIVEN BIRTH, THE FATHER/MOTHER PART OF THEIR BEING STILL EXISTS, BECAUSE GOD OUR LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER, WHO WANTED CHILDREN OF HIS OWN TO SHED HIS LOVE UPON, & TO LOVE HIM BACK,  MADE MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE & LIKENESS. 

IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, FATHER GOD'S FIRST COMMANDMENT TO MAN, GIVEN TO MOSES, TO GIVE TO THE ISRAELITES, IS TO PUT NO OTHER GOD, OR NO ONE AND NOTHING BEFORE HIM.  LIKEWISE, IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, JESUS COMMANDS US TO LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL OUR HEART MIND AND SOUL; AND TO LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS {EACH OTHER} AS WE LOVE OURSELVES. 

COMMANDMENTS

MATTHEW 22:37 thru 40 NKJV

37/ Jesus said to him, You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38/ This is the first and great commandment. 39/ And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40/ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
