OBEDIENCE TO GOD'S WORD IS A TRUE SIGN OF A PERSON'S LOVE FOR GOD. KNOWING GOD'S WORD
IS THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW IF WE ARE OBEYING GOD.
John 14:23, 24 NJKV 23/ Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. 24/ He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me.
John 14:15 NLT
15/ “If you love me, obey my commandments.
2 John 1:6 NIV
6/ And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his [JESUS] command is that you walk in love.
REVELATION 1:8 KJV
8/ I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
BEFORE WE DELVE INTO *OBEDIENCE TO GOD* SCRIPTURES, LET'S FIRST REVIEW WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY #102 WALKING IN LOVE
MATTHEW 25:31-40 NIV
31/ “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32/ All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33/ He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34/ “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35/ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36/ I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37/ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38/ When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39/ When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
THE OBEDIENT FAMILY OF GOD
GOD'S MAN - obeys God and when married cherishes his wife.
Ecclesiates 12:13 KJV *
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Genesis 2:21-24 NLT
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the Lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man.
23 “At last!” the man exclaimed.
“This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’”
24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
Mark 10:6-9 NKJV *
6/ But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ 7/ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8/and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9/ Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” *
Ephesians 5:25-33 NKJV
25/ Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26/ that He might sanctify and cleanse her [THE CHURCH] with the washing of water by the word, 27/ that He might present her [THE CHURCH] to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28/ So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29/ For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30/ For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31/ “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32/ This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33/ Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.}
INSTRUCTION FOR FATHERS {Ephesians 6:4 NLT * 4/ Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.}
GOD'S WOMAN - obeys God and when married obeys her husband.
Proverbs 31:10-31 NKJV * 10/ Who can find a virtuous wife [WOMAN/KJV]? For her worth is far above rubies. 11/ The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain. 12/ She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13/ She seeks wool and flax, and willingly works with her hands. 14/ She is like the merchant ships, she brings her food from afar. 15/ She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants. 16/ She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard. 17/ She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. 18/ She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night. 19/ She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. 20/ She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. 21/ She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household is clothed with scarlet [THE BEST]. 22/ She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple. 23/ Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land. 24/ She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes for the merchants. 25/ Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. 26/ She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. 27/ She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28/ Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29/ “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” 30/ Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. 31/ Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates. *
Ephesians 5:22-24 NKJV -
Marriage—Christ and the Church
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.
GOD'S CHILD - obeys God and obeys their parents in the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-3 NKJV * 1/ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2/ “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3/ “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”
18/ Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19/ Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
20/ Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
21/ Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

Blessings for Obedience
DEUTERONOMY 28:1-14 NLT
1/ “If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. 2/ You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God:
3/ Your towns and your fields will be blessed. 4/ Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed. /5 Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed. 6/ Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. 7/ “The LORD will conquer your enemies when they attack you. They will attack you from one direction, but they will scatter from you in seven!
8/ “The LORD will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
9/ “If you obey the commands of the Lord your God and walk in his ways,
the Lord will establish you as his holy people as he swore he would do. 10/ Then all the nations of the world will see that you are a people claimed by the Lord, and they will stand in awe of you.
11/ “The Lord will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops. 12/ The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them. 13/ If you listen to these commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today, and if you carefully obey them, the Lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom. 14/ You must not turn away from any of the commands I am giving you today, nor follow after other gods and worship them.
37/ Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38/ This is the first and great commandment. 39/ And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40/ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
